Ever since Lance Armstrong began wearing his “Livestrong” cancer wristband, people have realized the potential of using these wristbands to create awareness and to raise funds or to promote awareness for a cause. Cancer wristbands are inexpensive and can be embossed with any name or slogan and come in an endless variety of colors and can be used to represent any group or cause.
Silicone wristbands look and feel like and are very comfortable and stylish to wear. They are a flexible loop and can be easily stretched to fit on any hand or wrist. Because they do not have fasteners, it is very difficult for one to lose a wristband.
Silicone wristbands are cheap to make. Most manufacturers offer a variety of prices for single order quantities and larger discounts for bulk orders. If you watched any of the NFL fooball games yesterday you probably noticed something a little different. You probably saw more pink than you would normally see on many of the players, coaches, field equipment. The NFL’s breast cancer awareness campaign, ”A Crucial Catch” was seen all over the stadiums and playing fields. All apparel worn at games by players and coaches and special K-balls and pink coins will auctioned off at NFL Auction (www.NFLAuction.NFL.com), with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society and team charities. This is an issue that has directly touched the lives of so many in the NFL family, and we are committed to helping make a difference in breast-cancer prevention.
From Brett Favre, Larry Fitzgerald, Drew Brees and many other NFL stars wore pink cleats and other pink-colored gear during games. This was all for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast Cancer Affects Hundreds of Thousands of Lives
The American Cancer Society estimates 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2009. Breast cancer is the second-highest cause of cancer-related deaths among women, claiming more than 40,000 lives in 2009 alone.
About one out of every eight women can expect to face breast cancer. However, because successful treatments are acheiveable for many breast cancer cases, the breast cancer death rate is about one out of 35 people. In fact, the ACS reports that breast cancer death rates have been decreasing overall because of better preventative measures — such as screenings — and better treatments.

What causes breast cancer is stil unknown but there are many theories or myths that have been floating around about the causes of breast cancer. Here are just a few :
No. Sun tanning parlors have shown no risk to breast cancer. However, excessive tanning can increase the risk of skin cancer. Sun exposure and tanning should be used in moderation.
No. There is not evidence that a underwire bra can cause or increase the risk of breast cancer. Breast cancer has been around for a long time and anyone can be effected young or old.
Does wearing deodorant cause breast cancer?
No. No research has show evidence that deodorant or antiperspirants can cause breast cancer. There’s always concern in the area of chemicals that are in contact with skin and may be harmful or cause a cancer but overall nothing can be proven to show that deodorant can cause breast cancer. We should always be looking for products that are less toxic for us as well as the environment.
Maybe. Is it a known fact that smoking is the cause of many health problems include lung, kidney, bladder, head and vulvar cancers. The most serious health problems is heart and lung disease. There are some studies that suggest that smocking within 5 years of when your start your menstrual cycle may increase the chances of breast cancer. Best thing to do is not to smoke and eliminate many of the potential risk problems that are cause by smocking.
Yes. Excecies has shown to be decrease the rick of breast cancer. Why ? That’s not very clear but it research is focusing on the fat content in your tissue. By exercing you reduce fatty tissue and therefore reduce your risk of breast cancer. Exercise is one way to prevent cancer as well it is good for your body including your heart, lungs and bones.

Unless you are a person who has a confirmed diagnosis of hereditary cancer (BRCA 1 or BRCA 2) we have no evidence of why someone would contract breast cancer. In recent years a phenomenon has occurred with the use of silicon wristbands. The first time that I noticed the increase in popularity was with Lance Armstrong “Live Strong” yellow wristband. I saw every cyclist from young to old wearing one in support of the Lance Armstrong in his battle for cancer. Since then there ’s has been increasing use of using silicone cancer wristbands to raise awareness for a particular battle of cancer. The cancer wristbands have been used to help support a cancer cause and in some cases I’ve seen them used to help raise funds for a family who was fighting leukemia at a young age. Cancer wristbands can be made of a variety of material include plastic, rubber and silicone. The most popular is the silicone wristbands. One of the best parts of the wristbands is that they are not very expensive and they can be personalize with special imprinted text.
The wristband phenomenon has created an industry dedicated to support for many fund raising projects. There many companies that can special order custom silicon wristbands. Not only are the silicone wristbands used for raising cancer awareness but they have also been used for identification, charity fundraiser and even as just a fashion statement. Due to the popularity of the wristbands there has been a jump in the number of wristband makers on the market. Most makers only accept orders for at least 500 custom wristbands, but they do offer discounts for even larger orders.
The wristbands can be made in multiple colors or solid colors.Some can have text or name embossed or they can have a company logo. There now are colors for specific cancers that can be made and are used in charity or fund raising events. The pink cancer wristbands are used to raise breast cancer awareness. Much has to be said today about building awareness for cancer research. In particular , breast cancer research, has been put on the forefront with many “awareness” events including the “walk for the cure”. Most of these events are used for raising small donations by entering in an event or purchasing items like a breast cancer wristbands which can be purchased for a few dollars. These cancer awareness wristbands are seen every day and worn by all age groups.
The cancer wristbands became very popular when Lance Armstrong with his “Live Strong” wristband. This really launched the silicon wristbands fashion and style to help raise awareness for a good cause. There are variety of colors that symbolize the type of cancer that one may be raising awareness. The primary color of choice of cancer awareness is the color Yellow. Other colors like Orange – Leukemia, Burgundy – Multiple Myeloma. There is a color for just about every cancer and a colored cancer wristband can be a inexpensive way to raise awareness for your cancer cause. The rubber wristbands are worn by everyone include teens and adults. We see worn by children, school teachers and top business executives.
In the case of breast cancer, pink breast cancer wristbands are one the most popular in current battle to raise awareness and a cure. Not only is the pink used for wristbands but it used for a variety of products including hats, shirts, visors, tennis balls, sporting equipment, toys. try to find ways to reduce the risk of contracting cancer. Unfortunately we just don’t know enough about the causes of breast cancer
nor have found clear ways to keep from developing breast cancer. Taking the steps to detect breast cancer is the best way to prevent breast cancer. This is done through mammograms, annual doctor’s exams and self breast examination on a monthly basis.
